Stop removing the controversy paragraph!

Honestly, I added that in because such a thing actually existed. Heck, a high-class editor, Fabuvinny, even thought adding it in was a good idea. so please, don't remove it, especially since it was already given a greenlight by someone on the level of Fabuvinny or Kenji-girl. Weedle Mchairybug 04:35, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Evkl and TTE agreed on removing it. Like I said. -Sketch 04:36, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Hah, yeah. When we have about 10 people saying remove it, two people won't do much. MaverickNate 04:37, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Even if one of these people is basically Bulbapedia's equivalent of a veteran mod? Weedle Mchairybug 04:39, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
You know WM, many people like me were upset about Tracey leaving. May fans were upset about May leaving. And I'm sure what ever fans Max had were also upset about his departure. Do we mention them on their articles No. We were giving Misty special treatment. And don't tell me Misty is acceptable because she has a lot more fans. It's still bias. --ケンジガール 04:40, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
You know, I think you should talk with Fabu-Vinny about the whole thing, because, guess what, he not only agreed with the statement at hand, but he even said that the fans reaction to May's removal wasn't even close to the outcry that the fans had in regards to Misty leaving. Also, Bias? Literally everything in Bulbapedia has a degree of Bias. Literally anything we say has a degree of bias. Should we just destroy this entire site just to keep it unbiased? Besides, the whole Brock/Tracey thing was a fan controversy as well, should we delete that from the site as well? Heck, how about the Togepi Controversy, the Buizel controversy? Weedle Mchairybug 04:48, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
I already deleted the Togepi contraversy. As for the Tracey/Brock thing, that is a fact as the former director stated it himself. --ケンジガール 04:50, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
So what if it was confirmed by the former director himself, it was still an ongoing fan controversy, therefore it should be deleted. Weedle Mchairybug 04:56, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
We never stated it was a controversy. We just stated what the director said. --ケンジガール 04:58, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Even so, the mere fact that Articles that serve nothing more than to cater to the fans/bias, and even just sentences makes me think that, if you guys should remove this to delete fan-related things/bias, why don't we just destroy this whole site? I mean, in order to achieve true unbias, we must remove all thinking, we must have the entire site be run by robots, and all that, as that's the only way something can be considered 100% unbiased in actuality. Weedle Mchairybug 05:08, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Okay, now you're not making sense anymore... All I'm saying is that we shouldn't mention a controversy of a departure of one character when we don't do it for another character.--ケンジガール 05:14, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Even if its necesarry to talk about the controversy we really shouldn't have an entire seperate page for it. --Landfish7 15:01, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Sigh, fine, do whatever (Though having the whole Tracey/Brock debacle, regardless of whether it was settled by someone who works with the show or not, was still technically fanwank, as it's a common fan controversy, and therefore, regardless of confirmation, should be removed.). But can you at least keep the Mayumi Iizuka blog thing in the trivia? I mean, considering how Brock's article got away with the whole "Eric Stuart confirmed that Brock's last name is Harrison" thing in the trivia, keeping the Mayumi Iizuka blog would be fair enough. I'd add it back in myself, but, as stated before, I can't edit the articles due to it possibly being permanently locked out on editing. Weedle Mchairybug 11:48, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Another thing I should point out. The Masamitsu Hidaka thing should NOT be mentioned in the article, either. I mean, there's still a degree of controversy on whether what he said was legit or not (For goodness sakes, even the biggest of the "Misty cannot return" fans, Kasumi, a mod on BMGf, and a co-owner of the Misty club on there, had stated that his statement isn't set in stone.).
Plus, considering how he didn't even know about Pokemon Platinum being in development, despite, oh... I don't know, Corocoro having covered the development of the game to death, most of everyone and their brother knowing about it, the fact that two Alternate forms that debuted in Platinum appeared in a certain Pokémon Blockbuster, among other things, when he earlier bragged about how Ash and Pikachu are going to be part of the show for as long as the Games keep selling, not to mention he and his writing staff's lie about Ash's father appearing in Season 5 in that director's commentary in the Entei Movie, that definitely can't be inserted into the article, not even in the Trivia section. I mean, we don't mention the fact that he said that most of Ash's old pokémon will be making appearances in any of their trivia sections/articles, so why's this any different. Weedle Mchairybug 19:45, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Is the new pic is okay?

Hi guys please tell me that the new pic is looking good or not? I have uploaded it because there was no any other pic of her in the article as she appeared in advanced generation series. - unsigned comment from Adyniz (talkcontribs)

It would probably be helpful if you managed to credit the fan artist who drew it. PDL 15:31, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
The picture is by Pokesho. Do not upload fan made pictures without permission. Plus, they drew her with an enormous crotch.- unsigned comment from Kenji-girl (talkcontribs)

By the way, where is the originl AG Misty pic?--KukiTalk 17:01, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

I think it was deleted. --ケンジガール 17:03, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Then can sum1 get a new one, preferrably ASAP?--KukiTalk 17:09, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Protected???

Is this page is protected? I want to edit it but i can't because "edit this page" button is gone. There is no any template on this article, so may i know why this article can't be edited? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:12, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

This is why. And the events after it. --ケンジガール 06:18, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Woooooo, what a terrible war. Then keep this article protected but i want a favour from you. Can you please edit Hindi along with English, German, Italian, Spanish in the Names in different languages section. Her name is Misty (same as english)in the Hindi dub. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:31, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:37, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Edits, Picture of Misty in PokeSpe and the new HGSS Sprite

Since the Misty page is protected, I was wondering if you could add in her new HGSS sprite. The other Gym Leaders page got their new updated sprites already.

And this is a much cleaner picture of Misty in Pokemon Special.

a:File:Misty-in-Pokemon-Special.png

Hopefully you can make the edits...

JcZala 15:49, 11 September, 2009 (UTC)

That's fan art. We are not using it. --ケンジガール 22:48, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
That's actually a vector art. Vector arts complement the original art/scan because it has no alternations or major modifications (try comparing it with the original one). Vector arts are good for excluding unnecessary detail from the original scan. I vectored this to achieve the best format of picture and a cleaner version, since it could not be achieved by simply cleaning and cropping the scan. I give you my word that this is not fanart. And another thing... Please add the new HGSS Sprite of Misty and her Pokemon Team. I think it was in Serebii already. JcZala 17:47, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
I doubt vector art is excepted here. And people are working on Misty's team already. Be patient. --ケンジガール 02:52, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Vector art is just the same as a scan only cleaner. There's hardly a difference. Besides, I did the vectoring, so there's no need to worry about permission. Anyway... I'm just bummed that Misty's page isn't updated yet while the other Gym Leaders already have their new teams and sprites in their pages. How long will this page be protected anyway? JcZala 05:37, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

HGSS Dojo Pokemon

Though we do not know her main gym team yet, we should probably add this, anyways. - 050294 22:17, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

the other gym leaders already had their pages updated. I'm still waiting for Misty's page. I think her first team and rematch team have already been revealed. JcZala 05:33, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Indeed, they have. Man, I was waiting for the page to be unprotected, but now that I know that won't be happening anytime soon...

And, for kicks, what I would've said if we could edit the page:
HGSS party template. It's making a splash. </lamepun>
--ChaudCo~ 19:09, 15 September 2009 (UTC) <3
The other pages have already been edited and updated. Why is this one taking so long? JcZala 15:06, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps because I'm the first admin to find it? You could have always just asked someone on their talk page. —darklordtrom 20:36, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Her date.

She doesn't go on a date, in HGSS? Lovely Rose 01:51, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, she does. ~ ぎんくも 02:05, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

It's very similar to the storyline in the Chronicles episode "A Date With Delcatty". Taromon 14:09, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

There's a discrepancy between two different Wikis about Starmie's moveset in FR/LG...

I was reading this article about Misty on Pokéteca, a Spanish Wiki when I noticed a discrepancy. I noticed that according to Pokéteca, Misty's Starmie in FireRed and LeafGreen knows the moves Rapid Spin (Giro Rápido), Water Gun (Pistola Agua), Swift (Rapidez), and Water Pulse (Hidropulso) (see this link). However, the article here on Bulbapedia says that her Starmie knows Rapid Spin, Swift, Recover, and Water Pulse. Notice that on Pokéteca, the article says that Starmie knows Water Gun, but here on Bulbapedia, the article says that Starmie knows Recover. Which article is correct? Obviously, at least one of these articles is incorrect. Blaziken257 01:29, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Main picture

I know the general Bulbapedia policy is to use Ken Sugimori's latest artwork, but do you think for Misty's main picture we should use an anime picture? Misty is more well-known for her role in the anime than in the games, and her HG/SS artwork looks quite different from her anime appearance. Some people will look up this article and say, "Hang on, that's not Misty!" Taromon 12:43, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

A lot of other characters like her have that too... check out James and Jessie. They both have Sugimori artwork, even though they're known for the anime. So i think we should keep it how it is. CherryParanoia 09:20, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
Just because they appear in the anime and are probably a bit more known because of it, doesn't mean we have to have an anime pic. It would be out of place, because the only people we use anime pics for thier main one are the COD's. The only reason Ash doesn't have a Sugimori pic is because he never appeared in the games, and that's what the Sugimori artwork is made to promote. That's also why there's an "In the anime" section, and they're normally smaller than the "In the games" sections. R.A. Hunter Blade 14:15, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

EToP Pokémon

I don't recall Misty owing a Shellder or Togepi in EToP. --Maxim 18:37, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Could this be trivia?

Misty is/was the only main character that has been seen as an infant?--Midnight Blue 01:39, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

I think it would. CuboneKing (Planet CuboneBone Club) 01:52, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
I think it was in the Chronicles, we did not see the other characters....wait what about that flash back with May with her mom trying to catch her, was Max present?--Midnight Blue 01:57, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Eye color

The original Sugimori arts, including the GSC one, seems to show her with brown eyes instead of blue. Is that notable? Lovely Rose 00:12, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Not really. That seemed to be the case with all of the characters. --ケンジガール 00:31, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Blue eyes or green?

What's her eye color in all medias? This page lists it as mostly blue. Are they a cyan-like shade of blue or green? Lovely Rose 01:13, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

FAC?

I think this article is really high-quality, on par with Brock's article - or maybe even a little better - which is itself a featured article. So, I propose that Misty be nominated as a featured article candidate. But I don't wanna screw up by jumping the gun, so could I get an admin's word on this? Thanks. — @ 05:24, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

You're free to nominate without admin permission. If you think it should be nominated, go for it.--SnorlaxMonster 08:16, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Misty Artwork

thumb|right|Full art of Misty from Generation I Here's Misty's Full Artwork from Generation I. Every other Generation I Gym Leader's page has full Generation I artwork except for hers. --Dialgafan1 15:13, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Category

Could an admin please add this page to Category:HeartGold and SoulSilver characters? --AndyPKMN 20:09, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

If this page is going to stay at Misty...

...then there should be a disambiguation notice at the top linking to Misty (anime). --SnorlaxMonster 05:18, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

There is already a note in the anime section of this article. I think that is sufficient, seeing as it is where the previous information was and there is a paragraph or two outlining Misty's role in the anime. —darklordtrom 05:52, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
I disagree. I actually thing we need a disambiguation page like May and Dawn have. I also think we need them for Brock, Iris, and Cilan. Just because they're gym Leaders doesn't mean their game personas are more important. --Ggb81 15:48, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
The page isn't just about their game personas though. It also includes their manga and TCG personas. Their anime personas are also important, which is why they have their own articles. We don't need to disambiguate, because this is the correct page. This is the Misty pool, and Misty (anime) is essentially part which got so big that it broke off. --SnorlaxMonster 16:25, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Manga appearances

Should the information about Misty's appearance in The Electric Tale of Pikachu be moved to Misty (anime) (with a link on this page to Misty (anime)#In the manga or something)? EToP is kind of hard to place sometimes because it is a manga and while it has unique events and whatnot, it is at base an adaptation of the anime. What do you guys think? --ZestyCactus 15:11, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, since it's based on the anime Misty go ahead and move it to her anime page. --Coolピカチュウ! 20:39, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

New trivia?

It is quite obvious that while Misty is very afraid of bugs, they seem to like her. I am currently watching the beginning of the anime; in EP003 Caterpie likes her very much and in EP004 Weedle acts the same way. Maybe this relationship between Misty and Bug Pokémon is persistant? --sHoggard - rookie Pokéwiz 23:39, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

She is mentioned to be afraid of bugs here. This only occurs in the anime, so it belongs there, not here. --SnorlaxMonster 06:38, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Since this also relates to trivia: What does this even mean? Misty is the only character in the Pokémon franchise to have a recurring Pokémon in all the franchise media, the Pokémon being Starmie. If that means what I think it means, then this is wrong, because she apparently doesn't own a Starmie in Pocket Monsters (Manga).--Purimpopoie 01:50, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

Removed. --SnorlaxMonster 07:44, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

VS artworks

What bothers me is that the "VS" Sugimori artworks of Kanto Gym Leader faces are under the TCG section. Those are definitely supposed to be their Generation II faceshots, they are done in the same style as Johto GL faces and they're used alongside Johto faces in the VS artwork. They definitely belong to the same stock. I think their place is under game artworks (even the artworks from Gym Heroes/Challenge are there). TCG artwork section should be for card illustrations only. --Maxim 11:08, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Anime Page

For the Anime pages we have on gym leaders, specifically, Misty, Iris, Cilan, and Brock, I've seen that there are no disambiguation pages or even notices. Since we have such pages for other game characters who are major characters in the Anime (May and Dawn for example) shouldn't we have them for the gym leaders as well? --Ggb81 00:31, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Explanation here. --SnorlaxMonster 13:26, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Blastoise in manga, defeated by Clefairy's Suft/Hydro Pump?

quoute: "Blastoise is the first Pokémon seen in Misty's possession. She sent it out as Clefairy's opponent. He defeated Blastoise when he sucked all of the water from a nearby river and unleashed all of the river water on it.

None of Blastoise's moves are known."

ah, so, a Clefairy defeated a Blastoise with (hydro pump|surf|waterfall) ...

anybody else see a problem with this statement? is this confirmed? if so, can someone explain it? this makes no sense to me AT ALL.. Hanshenrik (talk) 03:44, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

I don't see anything wrong with the statement. Clefairy was not confirmed using these moves. PattyMan 04:02, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Keyword, Blastoise. Not Clefairy, Blastoise.--ForceFire 04:04, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
