A few movies have taken place far away from where Ash should be in the anime (Movie 1, Movie 5, Movie 6, Movie 9). So the route Ash took through the Orange Islands has nothing to do with where the movie takes place. It doesn't matter that Ash didn't give Charizard an official command. It helped Ash twice in a short amount of time, that's something it never did. And it shot fire in random directions even after it started to obey Ash. Surely only one of these can be correct? The [[Slowking's Day]] article also says that it was "intended" to be an extra for this movie, implying that this plan was not ultimately carried out, which again would contradict this movie article.
