Nincada

I dont think Nincada -> Shedinja should be here...--Sanky 19:53, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Why not? It's a branched evolution.  Tina  20:51, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
The TCG considers it so, and while it's not really technically a branched evolution, it's nowhere near a regular one either. It's something like halfway. TTEchidna 10:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Well, OK.--Sanky 14:13, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Yeah. It's one of those weird things, but you can't really say that it's an unrelated yet similar Pokémon (as is the case with Plusle and Minun), despite the fact that it doesn't directly result from the induction of evolution in Nincada, like both Gardevoir and Gallade are for Kirlia. If there were more Pokémon like it, we'd have some other precedent, but it's likely there'll be no more like this (well, there haven't been yet)... so we go with the TCG's classification of it as a brancher. Just to clear it up, a branched evo is when you have to choose which evo to get, and with nincada, you get both, so it is not a branch and therefore should not be put on the page.Leafgreener in 2010 01:26, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Nincada can evolve into more that one Pokemon, which can be considered a branched evolution, even though it is not the same as the others. XVuvuzela2010X 01:35, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

I think it counts as a branched evolution but should have trivia saying that it is the only one where you can get both evolutions when it evolves Grass is the best (talk) 19:10, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Lycanroc

Should probably be added.KrytenKoro (talk) 16:14, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Done. I'm not sure if other people will agree, but I've added it at least for now. I think the fact that we list each Wormadam as a separate entry should be precedent enough for forms to technically be considered branches. Later, if someone decides that it's technically not branched since both Lycanroc share a Pokedex number, then we should probably condense Wormadam into a single row of the chart for consistency. If we're going to add Lycanroc, should we also add Meowstic? Granted, both male and female have the same stats, but their movepools and Hidden abilities are different from each other.PDL (talk) 12:41, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

Nincada Mark II

Regarding Nincada...I have a book (possibly more than one) at home that lists Nincada as a branched evolution. Even disregarding that, I think it should be listed... Leafgreener said that a branch is when you choose which evo to get, but you can choose whether you want just Ninjask or both Ninjask and Shedinja. I don't think that should be the meaning of branched evos but it's not my choice. ----Celadonkey 17:58, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Since there is official media saying so, and since I haven't gotten a response, I'll just add it... --Celadonkey 01:12, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Meowstics

Why Meowstics aren't here? Both are same species with two different form, same as Lycanroc.--Dominikololo (talk) 12:11, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Meowstic is covered under List of Pokémon with gender differences. (Until next time... Anon e Mouse Jr.) Anon e Mouse Jr. (talk) 12:22, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
The two Meowstic are gender differences, not forms. You don't get the choice between the two when evolving Espurr (a male Espurr will always evolve into a male Meowstic), unlike with Rockruff.--ForceFire 12:31, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Alolan evolutions

As Wormadam and Lycanroc's alternative forms technically counts as different branches, then makes sense if the same is applied to Alolan forms, in which sense can these also have different stats, type combination, ability and methods as such presented in Cubone (Regular Marowak evolves at level 28 regardless of time. Alolan Marowak also evolves at 28, but only during night, while in Alola).
