It's odd, but I've heard from many places that her Japanese name Touko (and counterpart name Touya) don't actually come from fight, but mean clear or transparent, to fit in with the black and white theming. Of course, I don't actually know Japanese, but Google Translate seems to be giving something similar to Touko and Touya when I put in transparent. I know the rest of the names mean fighting, but it could be just a misunderstanding or something, or maybe the Japanese had a double meaning and the rest of them just picked one. Could someone who knows Japanese well enough to check it possibly confirm/debunk this? Thanks. HannahMyPet 14:05, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

:That's because the sources you saw took the information from Bulbapedia (the "transparent" thing was in older version of the article, until I changed this). However, the syllable "tou" has dozens of meanings in Japanese and the "transparent" theory was just a shoot in the dark. And since in all other languages they have names related to fighting (keep in mind that in this generation international names are more Japanese-based than before), it's safe to assume that the intended meaning of "tou" was 闘 - fight, war. --Maxim 14:27, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Can someone check if this is real and if yes, does it appear for Hilda and Hilbert? Marked +-+-+ (talk) 21:10, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
