On name origins, what about from the French "Garder" -- to keep, and "voir" -- to see?
--Slim - unsigned comment from Slim (talkcontribs)

It certainly sounds French in the anime dub. --FabuVinny 11:37, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
It could also be a play on the Valkyrie Geiravör (spear+vigilant) --Deuxhero 18:07, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Could someone please help me! What does it mean when it says "and the red fins it had as Ralts/Kirlia are now gone." Does it mean the red things? On there head? But, Gardevoir still has them! I'm confused.- unsigned comment from Gardevoir (talkcontribs)

I assume it means those on the head... Sure, Gardevoir's and Gallade's are on their chests now... but Ralts and Kirlia have them on their heads, which is the point. --TTEchidna 23:16, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

I still don't get why they call them "Fins". I don't think there fins. ~Gardevoir - unsigned comment from Gardevoir (talkcontribs)

More "fin-like" then "fins", to be exact. I think I was one who referred to them as Fins... if you can think of a more accurate word for it (maybe "fin-like ridges"?), then by all means, replace it. -- Jioruji Derako.> 02:41, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
I'll probably do that. Thank you for you're help. - unsigned comment from Gardevoir (talkcontribs)
Right on. Looks just great now. -- Jioruji Derako.> 21:36, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, theres a much better understanding of what it means now. --Gardevoir - unsigned comment from Gardevoir (talkcontribs)

was gardevoir ever speculated as a counterpart to Alakazam ?? - unsigned comment from Palkie (talkcontribs)

Not... really. Sure, it's kind of a Hoenn counterpart, but Alakazam's there anyway. TTEchidna 23:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Gardevoir's attacking pose

There's something I've noticed about Gardevoir in Pokémon Colosseum/XD/Battle Revolution for quite a while. Whenever Gardevoir attacks, it looks to me as if Gardevoir's holding its arms in a cross formation. It's as if Gardevoir summon power from God to strike their foes or something. Can I make a note of that in the Trivia section?--Pokencyclopedia 05:01, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Mmmmmh... I'm thinking... that's too fanony. TTEchidna 05:12, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
It looks more like some sort of unusual dance move to me. That might actually make more sense, since nearly all of Kirlia's animations (even its KO'd animation!) look like dance movements (which makes it hard for me to understand why Miror. B never uses one....). Diachronos 18:02, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Gardevoir - Hypnosis

I noticed that my Gardevoir in Gen IV learned Hypnosis at 60, not 63 like the page says. Was that a typo? Or did I do something to learn moves faster..? ~Desu - unsigned comment from DesuMaiWaifu (talkcontribs)

Nope. It was apparently wrong. Fixing. TTEchidna 06:46, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Cool, glad I could help. ~Desu - unsigned comment from DesuMaiWaifu (talkcontribs)

Gender ratio

This might be a silly question, but since I created a new account for this soul purpose, I'll ask it anyway: Given the fact that this Pokemon can only evolve from female Kirilia, shouldn't its gender ratio be 100% female? WellyDawn 23:07, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Actually, male Kirlia can evolve into Gardevoir too. It's just that female Kirlia can only evolve into Gardevoir. —darklordtrom 23:08, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Even i am a fan of her(i always treat them as female),i know theyre 50/50 gender.See Snorunt's evolutions,theyre just reversed. --Gillstar34 09:38, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Generation V Event Move?

I was looking at the moves Gardevoir can learn and noticed Hypnosis was in the Event Moves section for Gardevoir even though it learns it naturally. Aside from gaining the move 15 levels early, I don't understand why it is an event move in this case. Frozen Fennec 03:41, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Good catch, I've removed it, just hope I'm not mistaken too. --Spriteit (talk) 14:29, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Type

Someone change its type to Psychic/Fairy. ★~Darklight~★ 15:17, 11 June 2013 (UTC) 15:15, 11 June 2013 (UTC) 15:15, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

That's good! Add it! ~☆I'm TheShinyMew!☆~ 15:23, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Guys and girls, we are updating pages as we can, this has just been announced. We aren't super computers, and no, we won't unprotect the pages for user help currently as not all the supporting templates have not been updated to allow them to display correctly as of yet. --Spriteit (talk) 15:42, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

It says prior to Generation IV (4) it was a pure Psychic type. This error is also on Marill and Jigglypuff pages. It should be VI (6) Zond (talk) 16:09, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Notable?

[|In the demo] of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Gardevoir was an assist trophy instead of a Pokémon coming from a Poké Ball. Would this be worth noting in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl segment of the article? Frozen Fennec 02:09, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Can a staff member add the BW118 Pokédex entry, I have it already finished below.

Episode Pokémon Source Entry
BW118 Gardevoir Ash's Pokédex Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokémon. If Gardevoir's trainer needs protecting, Gardevoir creates a small black hole by using all of its psychic power.

Added. --Pokemaster97 15:57, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

BW122

Could a staff member kindly add the dub title of BW122: What Lies Beyond Truth and Ideals, to the anime section? Thank you! ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 17:22, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Just a thought

Maybe we can add spill casters to there possible inspiration? They seam to were robes or gowns, they are the types that analog magic, and they have stats like a spill casterRandom Chaos (talk) 00:17, 4 July 2013 (UTC)♥

You mean a spellcaster? I suppose that's sort of plausible, though equating Special Attack with magic is a bit assumptive and might get reverted as speculation/fanon. Please work on your spelling and grammar, though. You're barely comprehensible. (I still can't figure out what you mean by "analog magic".) Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 02:45, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Edit request

Could a staff member kindly add the title of BW125, Cilan and the Case of the Purrloin Witness! to the anime section? Thanks! ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 14:33, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Done. --Pokemaster97 16:30, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Unnecessary Trivia

Despite its human-like appearance, it isn't in the Human-Like Egg Group.

Could this trivia point be removed? I don't have editing permission so I can't remove it myself. This piece of trivia seems dangerously close to the "Despite its Pokédex entries mentioning this Pokémon has... (ability), it cannot learn (move)/have (ability)." trivia which isn't allowed on pages, also several Pokémon are human-like yet aren't in the Human-Like group (such as Gallade, Mawile etc.) so this trivia piece is irrelevant. --Reliジーランス? 09:55, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

I dissagre, it should be put back because it is good triva. For gallade, you can put the same thing and mawile is not that much human-like. can someone back me up. FOR GARDEVOIR. HoennRemake (talk) 17:52, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Nope. I already won. Trivia point can't be added back in.-The Truth aka Relicant 18:08, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Type Matchup Chart

Should Gardevoir have 2 Type effectiveness charts: One for Gen VI and one prior to Gen VI?

Nope. Our current one is fine. It has parameters to mark the changes that were made. Someone just needs to update it. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 12:07, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
