I would suggest that it might also be based off the red-eared slider/terrapin due to Galar being a UK analogue and this dex section - "It seems that some Trainers will release Drednaw back into the wild once they discover they can't handle it." In the UK they're an invasive species which became established due to people releasing pets. The red/orange markings on the side of Drednaw's head also resemble the red markings which the red-eared slider is named for :) Backagain 21:51, 12 November 2019 (UTC) | |||
