Delta
Does anyone have any idea what the Delta could mean? Being the 4th letter in the Greek alphabet, what could've made Game Freak choose that one for the trademarked "Delta Emerald"? The Titanium (talk) 19:38, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
- Delta is the forth letter but its also represents three due to its triangle shape. It probably refers to Raquaza being the third of the trio with a Delta Emeral likewise being the third game. What I wantt to know though, would Raquaza still take full damage from Dragon/Fairy types moves or does it only negate flying weaknesses? In which case it's not as useful on him alone since it already takes neutral damage from electricity and will still take super effective damage from ice Don Lark Kiin (talk) 23:36, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
Desolate Land and Primordial Sea
"When the Delta Stream Ability is activated, even extremely harsh sunlight and heavy rain weather conditions will be blown away by its strong winds!"
In other words, the Official Site's page for Mega Rayquaza flat out states that Delta Stream will prevent Desolate Land and Primordial Sea from being active, or even activating at all should Mega Rayquaza already be in. Shiramu Kuromu (talk) 01:39, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- Notice the wording though. It's not that strong winds always overpower extremely harsh sunlight and heavy rain, but that when Delta Stream activates it can replace those two. Since Desolate Land and Primordial Sea are not listed as being prevented from activating by the Ability, and the site says "These strong winds cannot be dispelled by changing the weather condition, except by a very limited number of Pokémon.", I think it will probably be the case that Primordial Sea and Desolate Land can activate while strong winds are in effect. --SnorlaxMonster 07:08, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
Super-effective against Flying-type Pokémon
Does Delta Stream neutralize only weaknesses relating to the Flying type, or does it neutralize all weaknesses a Flying-type Pokémon has. For example, does Mega Rayquaza still take double damage from Dragon and Fairy since its Flying type doesn't factor into those matchups, or are all of its weaknesses neutralized simply by virtue of it being a Flying-type. It should be clarified in the article to avoid confusion, but I don't yet have the game to check for myself. Hyper Turtwig (talk) 07:03, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
- I have done some extensive testing, and it seems that it specifically cuts the power of Ice, Rock, and Electric moves in half when used against Flying-type Pokémon. So Dragon moves are still super-effective against Mega Rayquaza, and if Mega Rayquaza used Blizzard against a Pidgey and a Diglett, the Pidgey would take 1x damage, while the Diglett would still take 2x damage. Mega Rayquaza still takes super-effective damage from Ice moves, but it is only 2x, rather than 4x. It also SAYS that it has been reduced; when Mega Rayquaza is hit by electricity, for example, it says it is not very effective. So, for full clarification, this is how the weather condition works: If Delta Steam is in effect and a Flying-type Pokémon is hit by an Ice, Electric, or Rock-type move, the damage they receive from said move would be half of what they would've received had Delta Steam not been in effect. Pointless situation that needs to be considered to iron out technicalities
In strong winds, if a Flying-type Pokémon has three types (due to Forest's Curse) and is hit by a move super-effective against pure Flying-type Pokémon, but its other two types are weak and resistant to that type of move respectively (e.g. Pelipper affected by Forest's Curse, such that it is Water/Flying/Grass, being hit by an Electric- or Ice-type move), would the hit be counted as super effective (for the purposes of type-resist Berries, etc.)? --SnorlaxMonster 18:00, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- If I understand it correctly, the Pelipper would be considered to take neutral damage from an Electric- or Ice-type move (except Freeze-Dry). Basically Delta Stream just alters the type chart to make Flying's weaknesses into neutral matchups. Hyper Turtwig (talk) 01:49, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
