I'm alright with the patterns in the version article, but the rest of it needs to go. Having speculation is one thing, but having an entire article consisting of it is another. Also, I don't always start deletion discussions, if I didn't, then the edit summary and the template state my argument. I think it's a waste of time retyping all that stuff out.
