Attacks - Unconfirmed and Likely to be fake

The Attacks of new Pokémon were reported on the Blue SkY Blog, right. It first reported the names of new starters (it was real information). But it recently became infamous of posting FAKE informations. One of them first leader's name, Zack. He was revealed to be named Hyouta few days. And second is three fake Pokémon Names (Marsula, Garinan, Samusamu). There is no sign about these Pokémon and one of the infamous Fake Pokémon was named "Samu" (only two final characters of the name can be seen). So, the most recent informations on this blog are likely to be fake. And they're still unconfirmed. So, they should be removed from Bulbapedia until official announce of the attacks (It will prove if they're real or fake).

Sorry for bad grammar (I am not native english speaker) - Maxim

Here's the source. Click "Flash" to see a preview of what I recall to be Famatsu, previewing the start of Diamond/Pearl. This includes listing of the starters and their attacks. --PikamasterADV 16:43, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

OK. If it's in Famitsu it's real but the informations from the Blog (about Munchlax's, Wevile's and Mime Jr.'s names are obviously unconfirmed and likely to be fake because this blog is no longer a reliable source) - Maxim

Platinum art

Am I the only one who liked the Diamond/Pearl art better? The outline wasn't as thick, for one thing. Anyone mind me switching it back? - Cassius335 12:13, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Choosing images doesn't work that way - it only leads to edit wars. The only problem I have with the Platinum image is that it cuts off part of Chimchar's hand and includes Turtwig's leaf. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 12:19, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
I found Chimchars fingers; they're on the Turtwig page. Dear God, those images are bad. - Cassius335 12:27, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
It really only needs a little more care in cutting between Chimchar and Turtwig. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 18:54, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Can fix. TTEchidna 01:59, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Platinum Pokédex Entries

Where did you get Chimchar's Platinum entry if the game hasn't been released? Is there any page in the internet or something where you can check that? I would like to know!--YukitoOoO 21:45, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Japan. Translation. NEXT!--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 21:48, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Of course there are common translations but I meant, how can you be sure that's the entry Chimchar is going to have? You know, in other Pokémon there are this things saying that the entry is not the official since the game hasn't been released yet, then why doesn't this Pokémon (like some others, too) have that thing, I'm sorry I don't really know the name of that, I hope you understand. Ok, here what I'm trying to point out is that the entry looks like if it where the official one, it doesn't show that thing (something like this JP) and I think somebody should write it, I would but don't know if should really, or how, for that matter (I also know I should read the manual of style, I will but not now). So please, somebody help here!!--YukitoOoO 06:01, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, either someone forgot to put it... orrrrr... just took it from Chimchar. The Japanese dex entry is identical to that on the card in Platinum, so the English one will be. Also, it's spelled Pokédex. No capital D thanks. TTEchidna 06:07, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Uuuh I'm sorry for not writing correctly that! I hope I won't die because of it... Ok, thanks for your answer anyway. --YukitoOoO 03:43, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Name Origin

Admittedly, I only have a very cursory knowledge of the Japanese language at best, but I'm pretty sure that "zaru" is simply the way that the character 猿 is read when it's used in the middle of a word. That kind of thing happens a lot in Japanese. (For instance, the character 神 is read as "kami" on it's own, but when used as part of a word, it's read as "gami." For example, in the word Shinigami.) --Dual 05:21, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Scratching

How does Chimchar use scratching attacks such as Scratch and Fury Swipes? I don't see any claws on it... Just something of note. EnosShayrem 14:47, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Feline skills

I saw in Chimchar moveset that it can learn several moves previously only known by cat-like Pokémon, like Assist, Fake Out and Fury Swipes (the latter just because it makes think of cats), is it notable to point in the special abilities section?--Igor (talk) 14:33, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

It is not notable, as Chimchar learns them through breeding. Many Pokémon learn unusual moves this way. Crystal Talian 18:43, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
