If we're using that kind of trivia, Venusaur is the first starter to be grass and poison, Charizard is the first starter to be fire and flying, Blastoise is the first starter to be water, Blaziken is the first starter to be Fighting, Swampert is the first starter to be Ground... well, you get my point. The first minor appearance says "however, it was a fake mechanical robot." I think "fake, mechanical Charizard," or something like that, reads and sounds much better.
