Nowhere is it actually stated whether the Capture Disc is a physical object, or if it's energy/a laser/whatever shaped into a top-like form. I'm incline to think that it's the former, but when Rangers use these discs in the anime, after a loop is created around the Pokemon and the Pokemon is successfully befriended, the disc completely disappears. If it was physical, wouldn't it return to the Ranger? We should update this page stating whether this top is a physical object or a ball of energy, or make a note about how it isn't clear.
