I noticed during my initial run of White 2 that it is, in fact, impossible for Pokemon to evolve after blacking out if the player blacks out in the same battle they hit their evolutionary level. Leveling them further and not blacking out will make them evolve, though. Was this not the case in generations IV or VI?
