Judge or referee

I think they're usually addressed as referees... Aren't they? --electAbuzzzz 10:32, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Always have been when I've seen them. SpecialK Leiks Lucario and the Celebi Glitch 10:54, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
I remember in one episode Brock says, "I'll be the Referee!" SpecialK Leiks Lucario and the Celebi Glitch 10:55, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Officially, they're called battle judges. Referee is the informal name (why is this so shocking?). I didn't put the term out of thin air. If they were officially referred to as referees, Judgment Day! wouldn't have been calling them battle judges while, you know, they were training to become a judge. Add Clemont and Clembot to this page

Clemont and Clembot need to be added, especially considering Clembot refereed Ash's battle with Clemont. I can add, but I am not sure how to phrase it, so I will let an experienced editor add the information.--Pokemon26 (talk) 05:54, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

"Gym Leaders themselves are qualified judges. Ex-Gym Leader Brock has provided judgment for many Trainer battles over the course of the series, Roark presided over an official Gym match between Byron and Ash, and Flannery's grandfather—the former Lavaridge Gym Leader—took up the position as the judge for Flannery's match against Ash." --Spriteit (talk) 14:41, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
