: Unless you're implying that Barry has more than 8 Badges, then I don't see your argument, or I think you are misunderstanding me. Look at Barry's badge list, and you'll see three badges have been obtained prior to Ash meeting him: The Mine Badge, the Forest Badge, and an Unknown badge. Then there's 2 unknown badges and the Coal badge, followed by the Relic Badge and the Beacon badge. Wouldn't the two unknown badges and the coal badge have been obtained prior to "Gotta Get a Gible" since those are the only three badges that actually make sense? Because like I said Barry didn't get Fantina's badge until after Gotta a Gible, neither would he have gotten the Beacon badge. So that only leaves those 2 unknown badges and coal badge as the three Barry obtained prior to Gotta get a Gible.
