Self-Inflicted

Does this ability also cause Darkrai to take damage when asleep? Norle 06:50, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

No - "Reduces a sleeping foe's HP." —MasterKenobi 06:56, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

anime appearance

How did Darkrai use the ability in Sleepless in Pre-Battle! when the Team Rocket mecha in that episode were actually causing people nightmares? PattyMan 21:35, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Magic Guard Pokémon

So, if a Pokémon had the ability Magic Guard, and Darkrai put it to sleep, would it lose HP? - unsigned comment from Lapras (talkcontribs)

No. Magic Guard prevents all non-direct damage. Venus253 17:23, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Multiple Darkrai

Does this ability's effect stack? That is, if I had 2 or 3 Darkrai out at once in a double/triple battle, would a sleeping foe lose 2/8 or 3/8 of its total HP each turn? ~ Serial Colour 17:25, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Sudden Unexpected Nocturnal Death Syndrome (S.U.N.D.S)

I think that Bad Dreams is a reference to Sudden Unexpected Nocturnal Death Syndrome (S.U.N.D.S.). It's highly unlikely, but I think it could explain how Darkrai's Ability works. LittleOmu (talk) 00:03, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Possible, not probable. The evidence lines up, but it is unlikely that Game Freak or Nintendo would so brazenly allude to a serious cause of actual death. -- MAGNEDETH 00:13, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
Ah, okay then. I think the move Nightmare might also be in the same position as the Ability Bad Dreams. LittleOmu (talk) 01:31, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

TCG Trivia

Is it really appropriate to say that the ability originated as a TCG attack? The only connection is that they share the same name, which is already a common phrase in English. I think their differences outweigh their similarities. The TCG attack is singular not plural, it puts the opponent to sleep whereas the ability harms pokemon that are already asleep, the TCG attack also has the added effect of confusion. I imagine it's more in reference to the Japanese name as well which is also the same, but I have to say I'm leaning in a similar direction to you, it looks like it was added in 2018. --Spriteit (talk) 06:44, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
