:That's not enough evidence by Bulbapedia standards; first of all, girlfriend is not indicative, since it assumes heterosexuality. (And before you say it, "it's a kids show, so they wouldn't put gay characters in it" is an assumption — an almost certainly accurate assumption, but an assumption nonetheless, so we can't go by it.) Secondly, the original series is extremely loose with "hims" and "hers" when the original Japanese version uses a gender-neutral pronoun, so casual usage like that isn't enough. He a boy it's very easy to tell. The azumerial was female and toadile was getting help by Brock about romance so he a boy. Male it's very easy to tell. The way they act so male the gender male.
