This card was released as a SWSH Black Star Promo to celebrate Bidoof Day. Residents of the United States and Canada with an online Pokémon Center account who were subscribed to the Pokémon Center newsletter received an email invitation to express their interest in the promotion on July 1, 2021. People wishing to do so were required to follow the link in the newsletter before 11:59 PM PDT on July 10, 2021 for a chance to receive a promo code.[1] Codes were emailed in waves to selected entrants, the first of which began on August 19, 2021.[2] Codes could then be used in conjunction with any purchase worth at least $20 USD or CAD (exclusive of taxes) from the US or Canadian Pokémon Center online stores and a copy of the card was included with valid orders.[1] All codes were distributed by September 1, 2021[3] and were valid until 11:59 PM PDT on December 31, 2021.[1]
