Toucannon's flock: Difference between revisions

{{p|Toucannon}} is the leader of a group of Pikipek and one Trumbeak that lives in a forest on Melemele Island. Toucannon is responsible for hatching the Pikipek from [[Pokémon Egg]]s, while it leaves the hunt for food to Trumbeak and the Pikipek. By mistake, a {{AP|Rowlet}} was born into the nest of Pikipek. The Rowlet would grow up alongside the Pikipek but would never be fully accepted by them, Trumbeak, and Toucannon.

Toucannon debuted in ''[[SM004|First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!]]'', where it was waiting at its nest for the Pikipek, Trumbeak, and Rowlet to return with fruit. When it turned out Rowlet had accidentally brought a wind chime instead of fruit, Trumbeak gave it a scolding and banished it from the group. The next day, as the Pikipek and Trumbeak were out looking for food, Toucannon was flashing back to the time where Rowlet's Egg hatched among the Pikipek when Rowlet returned with a melon. At that moment, the group was attacked by {{TRT}}, who were trying to get {{an|Bewear}}'s {{Berries}} back. With the help of {{Ash}}, Rowlet managed to save them. Ash planned to catch Rowlet, but upon seeing it happy with its family, he decided not to. Nevertheless, Toucannon successfully encouraged Rowlet to join Ash.

In [[SM132]], the family headed over to [[Manalo Stadium]], where Rowlet was preparing to battle Hau and his {{p|Decidueye}}. Toucannon and Trumbeak showed Rowlet how to use {{m|Feather Dance}}. Toucannon later watched as Rowlet battled Decidueye.

Toucannon has a caring personality, as shown when it was looking after the young Pikipek and Rowlet. It was also worried for Rowlet after it was banished from the group, as seen when it was pacing about the nest, remembering the time Rowlet accidentally hatched from an {{pkmn|Egg}}. In addition, Toucannon gets annoyed if someone touches its beak, as seen when {{Rotom}} did so to see if it felt hot, making Toucannon intentionally heat up its beak to burn Rotom.

Even after it left the family, Toucannon continued to help Rowlet, as seen in ''[[SM097|No Stone Unturned!]]'', where, after Rowlet's loss to [[Hau]] and {{p|Dartrix}}, it helped it learn {{m|Seed Bomb}}. This would later be essential to Rowlet's victory in a rematch against Dartrix.

{{p|Trumbeak}} is part of a family of {{p|Pikipek}} led by a {{p|Toucannon}} that lives in a forest on Melemele Island. Its exact position in the group is unknown, although it is the second-in-command after Toucannon. By mistake, a {{AP|Rowlet}} was born into the nest of Pikipek. The Rowlet would grow up alongside the Pikipek but would never be fully accepted by them, Trumbeak, and Toucannon.

Trumbeak debuted in ''[[SM004|First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!]]'', where it was leading the Pikipek in taking fruit from the citizens of [[Hau'oli City]]. The people of Melemele Island allow the group of Pikipek to take their fruit so that people and Pokémon can live in harmony. After taking the fruit back to their nest, it was discovered that Rowlet had accidentally brought a wind chime instead of fruit. Trumbeak scolded Rowlet for this and banished it from the group.

In [[SM132]], the family headed over to [[Manalo Stadium]], where Rowlet was preparing to battle Hau and his {{p|Decidueye}}. Trumbeak and Toucannon showed Rowlet how to use {{m|Feather Dance}}. It then flew off with the Pikipek before returning with a headdress resembling Decidueye for Rowlet to wear. Trumbeak later watched as Rowlet battled Decidueye.

Trumbeak is rather stern, but caring all the same. It scolded Rowlet when it failed to bring food back to the nest and became annoyed at Rowlet when it fell asleep as it was telling Rowlet off. Despite being annoyed towards Rowlet, Trumbeak praised it when it returned with a melon and is thankful of Rowlet's efforts. It even gave Rowlet a hug as it left to join Ash's team. This was seen again in ''[[SM097|No Stone Unturned!]]'', where it welcomed Rowlet back into its flock and helped teach it how to use {{m|Seed Bomb}}.

The Pikipek are friendly Pokémon and seem to have a good bond with {{AP|Rowlet}}. They are usually seen together as a flock and follow Trumbeak around whenever they are collecting fruit.  

Rowlet was accidentally hatched into the group from an {{pkmn|Egg}}, but it was quickly accepted as a member of the flock. Having brought a wind chime back to the den, Rowlet was banished from the group in ''[[SM004|First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!]]''. Rowlet later returned to the group with a melon which {{Ash}} had given it, hoping to catch it. It later freed the group from {{TRT}} who attempted to get {{an|Bewear}}'s {{Berries}} back. Toucannon, realizing that Rowlet would be happy with Ash, gave it permission to leave the flock, which it did.
