DPS01: Difference between revisions

(Japanese: '''ヒカリ・新たなる旅立ち！''' ''{{tt|Hikari|Dawn}} - Setting off on a New Journey!'') is the first spin off of the {{series|Diamond & Pearl}} of the [[Pokémon anime]]. It first aired in Japan on February 3, 2011 in a one hour special with [[SS025]].

After her journey with {{Ash}} and {{an|Brock}}, {{an|Dawn}} returns home and has to decide which of her Pokémon to take with her on her journey to become a {{DL|Grand Festival|Top Coordinator}}. When the episode begins, [[Johanna]] goes to Dawn's bed and tries to wake her up, only to find that Dawn had already woken up. Johanna goes outside to check if Dawn is there, and sees that Dawn is practicing {{pkmn|Contest}} moves with {{TP|Dawn|Cyndaquil}}. Cyndaquil uses a {{m|Swift}} and {{m|Flame Wheel}} [[Contest combination|combination]] which impresses Johanna. {{TP|Dawn|Piplup}} tells Cyndaquil that he does a better job, and they start fighting each other. Dawn had to step in and break it up. Johanna suggests to Dawn that have a practice [[Contest Battle]]. {{TP|Johanna|Glameow}} and {{p|Umbreon}} begin the battle by doing a {{m|Swift}} and {{m|Shadow Ball}} combination, while Piplup and Cyndaquil respond with a Swift and {{m|BubbleBeam}} combination. Johanna is very impressed by their combination. Glameow uses {{m|Fake Out}} on Piplup to make him {{status|flinch}}. Johanna lets Dawn know that she is impressed by their combinations that they worked hard on. Cyndaquil and Piplup show off a new Contest move that they have been working on. Piplup uses {{m|Whirlpool}} while Cyndaquil uses Flame Wheel which create a cool shiny rotating ball effect. The move does not work properly when they try to open it up to create a sparkling effect, and the Pokémon fall to the ground. Piplup and Cyndaquil blame each other and once again begin fighting. Dawn explains to her mother that they have been practicing so hard and that she wanted to go on a journey to the [[Hoenn]] [[region]], and while she knows she'll be taking Piplup she can't decide which ones she should take with her and which she should leave with [[Professor Rowan]]. [[Izzy and Cara]] arrive and ask Dawn how she has been doing since it had been a long time since they've seen each other. They both hand Dawn some vegetables to take with her on her journey.
