| Ryūko appears for the first time in ''[[GDZ04|Crystal Orb of Rainfall]]''. When [[Shū]] and his {{TP|Shū|Pikachu}} are having trouble finding water in order to get hydrated, they meet a girl named Ryūko. She asks for their help finding her Blue Crystal Orb that she has lost and is precious to her. As they are in the middle of a harsh drought, Shū initially does not want to help her, as he urgently needed to get water for himself and his Pokémon. However, Ryūko insisted, saying that if Shū can find her orb, she can make the rain come. After searching for several hours, Shū gets frustrated and lets out a single tear. As this happens, Ryūko's orb appears in the ground. Once she received the orb from Shū, she transformed into a {{p|Dragonair}}, her true form. With her powers back, she was able to cause rain to fall once again.
