Release information

This card was released as a Holofoil SWSH Black Star Promo with artwork by sowsow and was available in the Collector Bundle from March 25, 2022 and the Spring 2022 Collector Chest from May 6, 2022. In Japan, it was released as a Non Holofoil S-P Promotional card and was first distributed through elementary schools in late January 2022. The card was one of three S-P Promos that could be enclosed with Pokémon-themed OenNote notebooks, which also came with a card display frame featuring outlines of the Pokémon Legends: Arceus first partner Pokémon.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] It received a more general release as part of a third "Have Fun. Spring, Pokémon Card." campaign that began on March 25, 2022. During the campaign, customers who purchased any Pokémon TCG products at participating Pokémon Card Gym locations or eligible products at participating Pokémon Centers or Pokémon Stores were given a Promo Card Pack containing one of three S-P Promos. Customers were also given a "Have Fun. Spring, Pokémon Card." sticker with their purchase. The campaign ran for as long as stocks lasted and was limited to one per customer.[8] It was reprinted in the Astral Radiance expansion with different artwork by kawayoo, first released in the Japanese Space Juggler expansion.

Trivia

This card was officially released first in Taiwan as a Traditional Chinese-language S-P Promotional card as part of a Lunar New Year KFC promotion that ran between January 11 and February 28, 2022. Customers at participating restaurants who purchased a Chicken with Golden Seafood and Rich Cheese set meal during the promotion period received a Promo Card Pack containing one of three S-P Promos with their order. This print is Non Holofoil and features the KFC logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork. Customers ordering the set between January 24 and 30, 2022 would also receive two Pokémon red envelopes with their order.[9]

The Astral Radiance print of this card was featured in the Illust Story IS24, Rowlet Forest.

Origin

Jump On's Japanese name is that of Pounce, a move later introduced in the Generation IX Pokémon games that Rowlet cannot learn. This card's SWSH Promotional print's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Moon, whereas the Astral Radiance print's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
