Roark: Difference between revisions

Roark appeared in the episodes between ''[[DP015|Shapes of Things to Come!]]'' and ''[[DP018|O'er the Rampardos we Watched]]''. He battled [[Paul]] in his debut episode. In this battle, he showed his strong abilities (even beating {{DL|Paul|Given away|Paul's Azumarill}} with his {{p|Geodude}}). However, his powerhouse, {{p|Cranidos}}, wasn't powerful enough to defeat {{TP|Paul|Elekid|Electivire}}. With this win Paul earned the {{Badge|Coal}} from Roark. Following his defeat, Roark battled and defeated {{Ash}} in the following episode.

|desc={{p|Geodude}} was the first Pokémon Roark used against Paul. It was first sent out against Paul's {{p|Azumarill}} but despite the type-disadvantage, it was able to defeat the Aqua Rabbit Pokémon. Geodude then went up against {{TP|Paul|Elekid|Electivire}} and this time it had a type-advantage, but was defeated by Elekid's {{m|Brick Break}}. It was also used as the second Pokémon in Ash's rematch and matched up against his {{TP|Dawn|Aipom|Ambipom}}. Despite putting up a good fight, it was defeated, due to Aipom's speed.

|desc=The powerhouse of Roark's team, {{p|Onix}} was used as Roark's second Pokémon during his match against Paul. It first went up against Elekid and while it was able to weaken it, Onix was struck by Elekid's {{a|Static}} and was {{status|Paralysis|paralyzed}}, allowing it to be defeated by {{TP|Ash|Chimchar|Infernape}}. Onix was also used during Roark's first match against Ash and easily won the battle for its Trainer, knocking out an already exhausted {{AP|Turtwig|Torterra}} and {{AP|Pikachu}}. During the rematch, Pikachu made up for its loss and defeated Onix with {{m|Iron Tail}}.

|desc=Rampardos is Roark's main Pokémon. It first appeared as a {{p|Cranidos}}. It was used to battle Paul, but lost. Then, against Ash, it won. It knows many powerful attacks such as {{m|Zen Headbutt}} and {{m|Flamethrower}}. While battling Team Rocket, it evolved into {{p|Rampardos}}. In the rematch, Rampardos defeated Ash's Aipom and {{AP|Pikachu}} and almost defeated {{AP|Turtwig|Torterra}}, but Turtwig managed to win.
