Yanase Berlitz is a character in Pokémon Adventures and Platinum's mother.
History
Yanase Berlitz debuts in a flashback of the Ruby & Sapphire arc when Norman was explaining his past. She made another flashback appearance while Emerald explained his past to Ruby and Sapphire.
Yanase officially debuts in the Diamond & Pearl arc out on sea. She admitted that it has been a while since she last did so. Yanase explained about a family emblem that she wore which was something created by herself with gems on the summit on Mt. Coronet when she was young. Yanase got a call from Platinum regarding what happened in the Distortion World.
Later in the Platinum arc, Yanase was at a hospital with Bebe and Daisy where Platinum's Pokémon was transferred there from a Pokémon Center. She and Daisy discovered the virus on the Pokémon as Pokérus. Yanase arrives on the bridge that Mr. Berlitz and Professor Rowan were standing on and told them that she and Platinum would be happy with helping them out on their research.
