 Professor Oak makes an appearance in ''[[PM023|Clefairy Finally Evolves?!]]'' where he demonstrates the use of [[Evolutionary stone]]s since both Clefairy and {{OBP|Red's Pikachu|Pocket Monsters}} can use them to evolve. He tries them out on Eevee but is stopped for unknown reasons. The Eevee is then released as it was temporary. Professor Oak is revealed to have his own Pokémon during the time Red and Green visit his lab. They were considered to be training partners for Red and Green so their Pokémon could be in top shape.
