Primal Groudon (TCG)
Primal Groudon is the name of the deck used by Alejandro Ng-Guzman, who was the runner-up of the Junior Division in the 2015 World Championships. It is one of the four 2015 World Championships Decks, released in November 2015, and is based around using stalling tactics to prepare Primal Groudon. Each Deck comes with a Worlds 2015 themed Deckbox, a booklet about the championships, a non-tournament-legal print of the sixty card deck, and the 2015 World Championships Pin. The cards included in the deck aren't the prints actually used in the decks, but are the most recent printing of the lowest rarity of the cards.
Alejandro Ng-Guzman brought his Primal Groudon deck—and the plush Primal Groudon that kept watch by his side—all the way to the final round of the Pokémon TCG Junior Division. The deck's star player can be slow to get going, so Robo Substitute can keep the opponent busy until Primal Groudon-EX is ready to go...and when it's ready, it's really ready, with huge HP and an attack that can do massive damage.
Alejandro was surprised to find himself in the final round of the World Championships. "I really didn't think I'd get this far," he said. His first Top 4 game looked a little scary when he stalled out on Energy, since his star Pokémon requires a whole bunch of that to attack! But a well-timed Teammates eventually helped him find the cards he needed to win and move into the finals. Alejandro started playing three years ago, when his mom attended a conference that happened to coincide with the Regional Championships in Florida. His most memorable moment from Worlds weekend? "Winning my first Top 8 round, and playing with my friends, and playing people from other countries!"
