Pokémon X and Y are set in the Kalos region three thousand of years after a war between two unknown nations, a war in which Pokémon were used as instruments of war. The warrior king Alistair allowed his Floette to fight in the war, but it was killed. He was enraged at the death of his Floette, and set out to make a machine that can redirect the energy of living things into a single target, thus reviving Floette. He was successful in bringing his Floette back to life but soon realized that he was now in the possession of a doomsday-level device, and went insane. He then turned the life-giving device into an ultimate weapon, and wiped out all life on the planet, ending the war. Floette was forced to flee, or die. Alistair, fully realizing all that he had done, was over came with depression. He went into the woods to die. It was then that he ran into the life-giving Pokémon Xerneas, had given him eternal life. So he buried the doomsday machine, and disappeared. Three thousand years later, the billionaire head of a cult obsessed with bringing the natural beauty back to the world, discovered the doomsday device and captured the ancient gods of life and death Xerneas and Yveltal to power the device and return the planet to its normal pristine state, by destroying all man kind. Its up to five trainers, you and your friends to save all mankind. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUySlxp2spU]
