Pokémon Refresh (Japanese: ポケリフレ Poké Refré) is a feature introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon that allows the player to clean their Pokémon after they become dirty in battle. The feature is similar to Pokémon-Amie from the Generation VI games. It uses the touch screen to allow players to pet, feed, and clean the Pokémon currently on their team.

Refresh

The main feature of Pokémon Refresh is too clean a Pokémon after it becomes dirty in battle. The player has access to a rag, comb, brush, hair dryer, and a medicinal swab. These tools allow the player to clean off dirt, untangled messed up hair, dry the Pokémon and even cure them of Status condition such as Poison and Paralysis

Petting

The player may pet their Pokémon by using the touch screen to rub it. Every Pokémon that can be petted has some places where it especially likes to be petted and some places where it dislikes being petted.

Each Pokémon has areas where it doesn't like to be petted, such as Rowlet's head. Other places can cause harm to the player, such as Pikachu's cheeks which will give an electric shock to the player.

Happiness benefits

A Pokémon with high levels of happiness will gain certain bonuses in battle such as having higher evasion and holding on in battle when it would normally faint.
