Piloswine (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Piloswine's size/appearance seem to be based off a mix of a {{wp|yak}}, whose mountainous habitat echoes that of the [[Ice Path]] in Northern Johto, and a {{wp|boar}}. It also share traits with Mastodons/Mammoths the latter of which is expressed in its later evolution.<!--It should be noted that Mammoths were grazers, while Mastodons were browsers, a behavior similar to that talked about in most of Piloswine's Generation III Pokédex entries.-->

 

A combination of ''pilose'', meaning "covered in distinct hairs", and ''swine'' (pig). Pilo may also come from the {{wp|Pliocene}} period, which is the period the arctic ice cap formed.
