Pikachu in a cap are not present in {{LGPE}}, {{g|Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl}}, and {{g|Legends: Arceus}}, despite Pikachu being present in these games. They are, however, present in Pokémon Sword and Shield and {{g|Scarlet and Violet}}.

Like Ash's Pikachu, these Pikachu are always [[gender|male]] and cannot [[Evolution|evolve]]. Additionally, they cannot [[Pokémon breeding|breed]]. In [[Generation VII]], Cap Pikachu cannot use {{m|Catastropika}}, even if they hold [[Pikanium Z]] and know {{m|Volt Tackle}}, however, they have access to the exclusive [[Z-Crystal]], [[Pikashunium Z]], and its [[Z-Move]], {{m|10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt}}.
