In several wars pidgey have been used to warn the allies of bombing raids and other attacks. In many cases pidgey have saved lives and are awarded for that. Pidgey also posses a great sense of sight and hearing, however like most bird Pokémon (with the exception of fearow and starly) pidgey do not have a good sense of smell. The shape of pidgey's wings are also unique. They are designed for sustained flight, but also allow pidgey to have short bursts of flight at the same time.
