The series has an {{wp|anthology}} format and none of its episodes apparently follow a chronological line.

The first short, ''Scraggy and Mimikyu'', was released on June 5, 2020. Nearly a year later, the second short, ''The Pancham Who Wants to Be a Hero'', was released on May 5, 2021. A second series of eight shorts was released on the official Japanese Pokémon [[YouTube]] channel, {{wp|TikTok}} account, and {{wp|Instagram}} account every Wednesday from September 18 to November 6, 2024. Unlike the earlier series, these shorts have a more musical element. Four of the shorts are in a vertical {{wp|short-form video}} format, while the other four are in the traditional horizontal format and feature original ending themes by Fukurow note, Taiyu Fujiwara, LustQueen, and RUI・TAIKI・KANON.
