Being the largest grouping of cards produced by Media Factory, the PCG Era brought a large release of products before The Pokémon Company took over production starting with Generation IV. Running from the release of Flight of Legends in March 2004 until the release of Movie Commemoration VS Pack: Sea's Manaphy in July 2006, this era promotes the remakes, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald. Below is a chronological list of all the items released during the Japanese PCG Era of the Trading Card Game.

Venusaur Random Constructed Starter Deck

The first products of the PCG era were the Random Constructed Starter Decks, released on March 19, 2004, just before the first main PCG era expansion Flight of Legends. One of these was the Venusaur Random Constructed Starter Deck (Japanese: ランダム構築スターター フシギバナ★草), which includes the Seed Pokémon Venusaur as a Pokémon-ex card and the rest of its evolutionary family as fixed cards. Three random evolutionary families from a selection of cards exclusive across all three half decks, plus a selection of Trainer and Energy cards make up the remainder of the half deck. It also comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Charizard Random Constructed Starter Deck

The second of the random half decks was the Charizard Random Constructed Starter Deck (Japanese: ランダム構築スターター リザードン★炎), which featured the Flame Pokémon Charizard and its evolutionary family as fixed cards. The remaining cards included in the deck comprise three random evolutionary families, a block of four that can be found in two of the random half decks, a block of three that can be in all three, a block of two Colorless-type families exclusive to the Charizard half deck, seven random Trainer cards, and eleven Energy cards. The half deck also comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

The third of the three random half decks released on March 19, 2004 was the Blastoise Random Constructed Starter Deck (Japanese: ランダム構築スターター カメックス★水). The Shellfish Pokémon Blastoise and its prior evolutions are featured as fixed cards, with Blastoise appearing as a Pokémon-ex card. The rest of the half deck is composed in the same way as the other random half decks, with three random evolutionary families, including a block of two Colorless-type families exclusive to the Blastoise half deck, a random selection of Trainer cards, and some Energy cards. A set of damage and status counters, a rulebook, and a coin are also included.

Deoxys Constructed Starter Deck

The Deoxys Constructed Starter Deck (Japanese: 構築済みスターター デオキシスデッキ) was one of two half decks to be released on July 1, 2004 alongside the Clash of the Blue Sky expansion. Like the main expansion, the half deck revolves around the DNA Pokémon Deoxys, which is featured as a Pokémon-ex card in its Normal Forme, and when combined with those from Clash of the Blue Sky, cover all three of Deoxys' currently revealed formes. The half deck focuses on Grass, Psychic, and Fighting Pokémon, and includes a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Rayquaza Constructed Starter Deck

The Rayquaza Constructed Starter Deck (Japanese: 構築済みスターター レックウザデッキ), together with the Deoxys Constructed Starter Deck, was released alongside the Clash of the Blue Sky expansion on July 1, 2004. The pairing of Deoxys and Rayquaza as the half deck's focal Pokémon are likely a reference to their appearance in the upcoming movie Destiny Deoxys. Rayquaza is featured as a Pokémon-ex card, with the remainder of the half deck comprising Fire, Water, and Lightning Pokémon. The half deck also comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.
