Oriba and his Marowak competed against Ash and Corphish in a Pokémon tournament in Sable City. After blocking several attacks, Marowak was eventually defeated by the Water-type Pokémon.

		Oriba used Marowak against Ash's Corphish. Despite Marowak's defensive strategy, Corphish broke through it by knocking its bone away and then knocking it out with Crabhammer. Marowak's known moves are Bone Club and Bonemerang.
