Release information

In Japan, this card was released as one of the XY-P Promotional cards and was given to customers who purchased at least 5 booster packs from Pokémon Center Kyoto in celebration of its opening on March 16, 2016. The illustration features Okuge-sama Pikachu and Maiko-han Pikachu, two traditional Kyoto-inspired mascots featured on several items of merchandise available from the start of the promotion, which ran from the opening day for as long as stocks lasted. The Pokémon Center Kyoto logo is also present on the card.

Trivia

This card includes several references to Kyoto and the Kansai region. The kuge were an aristocratic class integral to the establishment of Kyoto as the capital of Japan during the 8th century. Maiko are apprentice geiko (similar to geisha), young women in Kyoto who perform songs, dance, and play instruments. The honorific han is also used in the Kansai dialect, as is the Welcome attack on the card, okoshi yasu.

Origin

This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Y.
