Officer Jenny's Growlithe have been used in crime solving and serve as police dogs throughout much of the [[Pokémon world]]. As such, they are frequently seen [[Walking Pokémon|outside of their Poké Balls]]. Growlithe first appeared in ''[[EP054|The Case of the K-9 Caper!]]'', where {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}} met up with an [[Officer Jenny]] who trained {{p|Growlithe}} to act as police dogs. In this episode, the many Growlithe helped fend off {{TRT}}.

In ''[[AG006|A Poached Ego!]]'', an Officer Jenny's Growlithe was used to help catch the [[Pokémon poacher]], [[Rico]]. Growlithe also appeared in the episode ''[[AG036|The Spheal of Approval]]''.

In ''[[AG119|The Ribbon Cup Caper]]'', Officer Jenny's Growlithe was used to prevent {{TRT}} from escaping the [[S.S. St. Flower]] with the [[Ribbon Cup]], which was intended for the winner of the [[Hoenn Grand Festival]].

In ''[[DP033|All Dressed Up with Somewhere to Go!]]'', an Officer Jenny wore a Growlithe hat during the [[Pokémon Dress-Up Contest]], both as a reference to her Pokémon and to follow the {{pkmn|cosplay}}ing theme; Officer Jenny's Growlithe also appears in the episode.

In ''[[DP135|Beating the Bustle and Hustle!]]'', Growlithe participated in a fake [[Sinnoh Pokémon Hustle]] set up by Team Rocket. After Officer Jenny caught up to [[Azure]] and [[Crimson]], Growlithe fought against Azure's {{p|Drowzee}} and managed to defeat it.

In [[BWS01]], Growlithe was used to battle a {{p|Gyarados}} before it swam away.

In [[SS003]], Growlithe assisted Officer Jenny as she was holding traffic for a group of {{p|Ivysaur}} to cross the road.

Growlithe was shown to be very loyal towards each Officer Jenny, as shown in their debut episode when one of the Growlithe was a puppy in a flashback.

The Officer Jennys of [[Unova]] and [[Kalos]] do not use Growlithe, as they are not generally found in those regions. In Unova, the most common Pokémon Officer Jennys use are {{p|Herdier}}, and in Kalos, {{TP|Officer Jenny|Manectric}}.
