Nihei (Japanese: ニヘイ Nihei) is a recurring character in the Pokémon anime. He is the younger brother of Ippei and the older brother of Sanpei and hails from Ninja Village. Nihei is the second strongest of the village, only behind Ippei.
History
Nihei was first mentioned by Sanpei in A Rush of Ninja Wisdom!, and was only featured in a fantasy.
Nihei physically debuted in The Legend of the Ninja Hero!, where he was making preparations for the village festival. He welcomed Sanpei, when he returned to the village, accompanied by Ash and his his friends. He then had Pokémon battle with Sanpei to test his brother's strength, and managed to win despite having the type disadvantage.
While he and Ippei showed Sanpei and Ash's group the temple dedicated to the village's heroes, Ninja Village came under attack from Kagetomo and his Ninja Corps. Nihei accompanied Ippei in facing the army of Skarmory while Sanpei and Ash tried to protect chief Hanzo. While the brothers did their best, the enemy forces suddenly retreated after achieving their main aim - kidnapping Hanzo. Thanks to Saizo, Nihei joined the others and headed for Otori Mountain to save Hanzo.
Upon arriving at Otori Mountain, the group got attacked by Heidayu and the ninja army. In A Festival of Decisions!, Nihei used his Venusaur to battle the enemy ninjas, alongside Serena, Clemont and Shinobu. They eventually managed beat them, while Ippei defeated Kagetomo and saved Hanzo.
The day after the village's festival, Nihei said goodbye to Ash and his friends. After their departure he informed Ippei and Hanzo about the mysterious power of Ash's Greninja he had witnessed.
Character
Nihei is highly regarded for his strengths and skills as a Trainer, coming only second to his older brother Ippei. Like his other brothers, he has a competitive streak and is equally dedicated to protecting Ninja Village from harm.

| Venusaur is Nihei's only known Pokémon. Together, they are the second-strongest team from Ninja Village.
Venusaur first appeared in A Rush of Ninja Wisdom!, albeit only in a fantasy. He made his first physical appearance in The Legend of the Ninja Hero!, where he was used in a battle against Sanpei's Greninja. Using his vines to block incoming attacks and his ninja techniques, Venusaur was able to best Greninja and ultimately defeat it with a super-effective Solar Beam. Later, he was sent out again to face the ninja army's Skarmory. In the next episode, Venusaur was used to battle the ninja army's Pokémon and defeated a Gengar with Solar Beam. Venusaur's known moves are Double Team*, Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Petal Blizzard, and Solar Beam. | ||
