  • This deck is similar to English releases such as the 2 Player Starter Set and 2 Player CD-Rom Starter Set, designed to introduce players to the Generation II cards found in Neo 1.
  • Similarly to the Pocket Monsters Trading Card Game Deck, this was the only full deck to be released in Japan accompanying the Neo series.
  • None of the cards in this deck have rarity symbols (as is the case with all Japanese fixed sets), making these more valuable than the cards found in the main set.
  • Like other Theme Decks, the Neo Starter Set also includes a rulebook, damage counters, a custom coin and card list.
