Muddy Water (Japanese: だくりゅう Muddy River) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation III, where it was Marshtomp's and Swampert's signature move.
Effect
Muddy Water inflicts damage and has a 30% chance of lowering the target's accuracy. Muddy Water hits both opposing Pokémon in double battles. In a triple battle, Muddy Water will only hit opposing adjacent Pokémon.

Trivia
- Marshtomp and Swampert have never been seen using this move in the anime, despite it being their signature move in Generation III. Only Gastrodon has been seen using the move.
- Of all the signature moves of the Hoenn starters, Muddy Water was the only one that remained a Special move from Generations III to IV.
- Stunfisk is the only Pokémon who learns Muddy Water by level up that doesn't obtain STAB from it.
