Mr. Stone: Difference between revisions

Mr. Stone appeared in ''[[AG017|Stairway to Devon]]''. While wondering through [[Rustboro City]], [[Max]] first noticed Mr. Stone showing off a novelty can opener to the local children. The demonstration didn’t go well and the gathered crowd soon left, with only Max staying behind. Max informed the stranger that his PokéNav was broken, so Mr. Stone directed Max towards the [[Devon Corporation]] to get it repaired. The President quickly fled after his assistant, [[Kennedy]], spotted him during one his searches.

Following on advice, Max found the gigantic Devon building, and asked to have the PokéNav repaired. Unfortunately, the receptionist said that they didn’t offer repair servicing. Max hid behind a pillar as the inventor from earlier and Kennedy were approached by [[Officer Jenny]], who wanted to warn him of a potential infiltration of the organization. Mr. Stone then found Max, who had hidden in the building, and had one of the Corporation's technicians repair the PokéNav. Max later learned that Mr. Stone was actually the President of the Devon Corporation. Mr. Stone took Max on a tour of the laboratories, pointing out a project to revive extinct Pokémon from [[Fossil]]s. Having become well acquainted with Max, the President sent Kennedy to retrieve Max’s friends from the [[Pokémon Center]].

Mr. Stone suddenly noticed a suspicious scientist, so he and Max decided to follow him. Max accidentally alerted the intruder to their presence after tripping over, causing him to flee. Mr. Stone soon called Kennedy about the suspect, and the Devon Corporation was put into an emergency state. Kennedy, {{Ash}} and the others soon confronted the thief on the rooftop, while Max and Mr. Stone blocked off the escape stairwell. {{TRT}}, who were fleeing [[Officer Jenny]] after being discovered trying to infiltrate the Devon Corporation, went on to unintentionally help Mr. Stone recover the stolen vials of Creation Fluid from the thief. Officer Jenny later explained that the thief was a member of [[Team Aqua]].

Afterwards, Mr. Stone took the children out for dinner, and while eating, he secretly returned the now repaired PokéNav back to Max.

Mr. Stone is often referred to as "Mr. President" by his employees, however he isn't one for formalities. He prioritizes quality products, and is prepared to invest in experimental technology rather than profit. The President also makes a point to know all of his employees, namely for security purposes.

 

He often escapes his business duties, much to [[Kennedy]]'s dislike, to walk the streets of [[Rustboro City]] in the search for new inventions. He often speaks with children, finding their young and inquisitive minds to be among the biggest source of inspiration.
