Mick was a shy boy who didn't have too much confidence. One day, he encountered {{AP|Pikachu}} that came falling from the sky and into his arms. It electrocuted him out of fright, and he assumed that, because it can use {{t|Electric}} attacks, it was the pre-evolved form of a {{p|Zekrom}}. He proceeded to show it off to his friends [[Glenn]] and [[Sean]]. However, Sean identified it as a Pikachu, and Mick left. He then bonded with Pikachu and met {{Ash}}, {{an|Iris}}, and {{an|Cilan}}. Ash taught Mick how to battle, letting him use Pikachu while Ash used [[Sunglasses Krokorok|Krokorok]], and later {{AP|Tepig}}. Mick was thrilled to have learned how to battle, and then returned to battle Glenn and Sean. The three of them had a Double Battle, with Sean and Glenn using a {{p|Scolipede}} and {{p|Seismitoad}} belonging to Sean's father, and Mick using Pikachu and Krokorok.
