Origin

Energy Absorption is an attack that first appeared on Wizards Promo Mewtwo. Like with all Pokémon ☆ cards, this card is intended to represent the Shiny version of a Pokémon. However, in this particular instance, that trait does not seem to follow up entirely. While Shiny Mewtwo have a green tail, the one represented on the card has a yellow tail. This matches its Shiny coloration in Generation II, as well as Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness.
