'''Mega Energy''' (Japanese: '''メガエナジー''' ''Mega Energy'') is a type of currency in {{g|GO}} that can be used to induce temporary {{OBP|Mega Evolution|GO}} in {{OBP|Pokémon|species}}. It comes in multiple types, each corresponding to a specific {{OBP|evolution family|GO}}. Unlike [[Mega Stone]]s (which cause Mega Evolution in other media), Mega Energy can be used without a [[Key Stone]].

Mega Energy is received by completing [[Mega Raid]]s—{{OBP|Raid Battle|GO}}s with Mega-Evolved Pokémon as [[Raid Boss|Boss]]es. These corresponding to the Boss that was defeated, the amount ranging from 150 to 250 depending on how quickly the players completed the Raid.

Mega Energy for certain Pokémon may also be received by completing certain {{OBP|Research|GO}} tasks.

As of November 1, 2020, Mega Energy will be found by a [[Buddy Pokémon]] if the player has previously Mega Evolved a Pokémon in the same {{OBP|evolution family|GO}} and feeds it {{OBP|Candy|GO}}. The amount that the Pokémon finds is directly proportional to its [[Buddy distance]], at a rate of {{Mega Energy}}5 per 1 km.
