A link (Japanese: リンク link) is the emotional bond between a Warrior and a Pokémon, featured in Pokémon Conquest. Affecting the strength of a Pokémon, and being measured in percentages with an upper limit of 100%, it is an analogue to the main series concept of levels.

Links can be increased by fighting wild Pokémon or other Warriors, feeding the Pokémon ponigiri from a pongiri shop, or using any facility in a kingdom. Pokémon do gain link if they are defeated. When a link increases by 1%, it causes a link up, which is equivalent to leveling up in the main series games. Once the Pokémon's link reaches 100%, it becomes a Perfect Link.
The strength of a link (i.e. its percentage value) can be increased by fighting battles or visiting kingdom locations. The number of Pokémon a Warrior can share links with at any time is dictated by his or her Capacity stat. Regardless of the number of Pokémon a Warrior has linked with, only one can be used per battle.

The more link the player has with a Pokémon, the better stats and bonuses the Pokémon gets. Stats increase for each 1% the link goes up.

Perfect Link
Perfect Link
A Perfect Link (Japanese: ベストリンク Best Link) occurs when a Warrior has 100% link with their Perfect Link Pokémon. Each Warrior has specific Pokémon they can achieve a Perfect Link with.
Depending on how well matched a pair of Warrior and Pokémon is, the maximum value of the link between the two varies. Maximum link values are signified by bronze, silver, and gold symbols, the latter signifying a maximum link percentage of 90% or higher. A Perfect Link (Japanese: ベストリンク Best Link) is a maximum link value of 100%. Each Warrior has specific Pokémon they can achieve a Perfect Link with. When a Pokémon is paired with a Warlord that it shares a Perfect Link with, it will have several sprites showing different emotions<!--term used in the game-->, as opposed to a single, universal sprite.

Perfect Link gives the player and NPCs a boost whenever they are in battle unless they are defeated. Perfect Links are only established after a battle has finished, where the player comments about their Perfect Link partner, then that Pokémon receives a medal.
Move rank
The move rank of a Pokémon's single move will strengthen as the link increases, signified by +1 (20% link), +2 (40% link), +3 (60% link), +4 (80% link), or +S (100% link), being added to the move's name. Once reaching move rank +S, some moves take on completely new effects (e.g. Leaf Storm or Outrage).

Evolution and Rank Up
Evolution and transformation
Because levels and experience do not exist in Pokémon Conquest, evolution of Pokémon is determined, directly in some cases and indirectly in others, by the link they share with their Warrior. Pokémon that normally evolve via high friendship in the main series games, such as Golbat, instead evolve after reaching a certain link percentage, usually between 60 and 70 percent. Pokémon that normally evolve at a set level instead evolve when a certain stat reaches a specific value (for example, Spheal evolves when its HP has reached a value of 138), which in itself is determined by link percentage (though generally not a set number).

A Warlord ranking up is also a determined by the link they share with their Perfect Link Pokémon, with the only exceptions being Hero and Heroine transforming to Rank II, which happens automatically in List of Pokémon Conquest stories. In some cases, the rank up can only happen in a specific post-game episode, such as Masamune only being able to transform in his own episode, List of Pokémon Conquest stories, with a 60% link with either Rufflet or Braviary.
A Warlord transforming to another rank is also determined by the link they share with their Perfect Link Pokémon, with the only exceptions being the Hero/Heroine's transformation to Rank II, which happens automatically in List of Pokémon Conquest stories.
