Last Resort (Japanese: とっておき The Best) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation IV. It can be upgraded to the special Z-Move Extreme Evoboost by Eevee holding Eevium Z.

Effect

Generation IV

Last Resort inflicts damage and has no secondary effect. Last Resort will fail unless the Pokémon has used all of its other moves at least once while on the field. Using a move before switching out and back in does not count towards being able to use Last Resort. Last Resort will fail if it is the only move the user knows, or if the user does not know Last Resort (such as if it is called indirectly).

Generation V onward

Last Resort's power is increased from 130 to 140.

Trivia

  • It is impossible to use Last Resort when the user is holding a Choice item, unless the user's Ability is Klutz or the user gained the item via an opponent's use of Trick or a similar move. The exception to this is if a Komala knows only Sleep Talk and Last Resort as it can always use Sleep Talk successfully due to its ability (Comatose) and because Sleep Talk is its only other move Last Resort will not fail.
