Last Resort (Japanese: とっておき The Best) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.
Effect
Generation IV
Last Resort inflicts damage and has no secondary effect. However, it cannot be used until all other moves that the user knows have been fully executed, at least once, during the battle.
This counter resets if the user switches out, faints, or the battle ends. Last Resort will fail if it is the only move the user knows.
Mystery Dungeon
Last Resort will fail if the user does not have at least one move with no PP. The more moves with no PP, the more powerful it becomes.
Generation V
Last Resort's Power is increased from 130 to 140.

Trivia
- It is impossible to use Last Resort when the user is holding a Choice item. A move such as Trick can fix this, however.
- However, it is possible for a Pokémon with the Klutz ability to use Last Resort while holding a Choice item (as Klutz prevents the item from working anyway).
