Between Generation I and Generation III, there are no major changes to the route at all. However, the hidden item in the fence was originally {{DL|Vitamin|Calcium}} in [[Generation I]] was replaced with {{DL|Vitamin|PP Up}} in [[Generation III]].

* In {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, one of the Trainers in Route 13 have the highest leveled Pokémon of any Trainer in Kanto that isn't a Gym Leader or Champion: Pokéfan Alex has a level 65 Magikarp. The only Trainers with Pokémon at a higher level than his Magikarp on these games are Blue and Lance during their rematches, and Red, who is found in Johto, not Kanto.

** Also, Alex is the only Trainer in these games to have a level 65 Pokémon.

* In [[Generation II]], Pokéfan Alex's team were all Pokémon whose English names have the word "king" in it. In [[Generation IV]], they are all Pokémon whose Japanese names have the word "king" in it.
