Trivia

  • She was credited as 鈴木カオリ Kaori Suzuki when May returned during Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl.
  • She is currently a member and singer of Spunky Strider.
  • It has been reported in 2012 that KAORI has been diagnosed with a severe health condition affecting her larynx known as spasmodic dysphonia, severely impairing her ability to speak. As a result, due to the fact that in Japan, voice actors are often highly respected and therefore it would be disrepectful to replace a voice actor who retired from production and is still alive, the only exception being if the actor dies, meaning that their characters will either have to be retired or killed off (essentially reversing a similar situation in Western-produced movies and TV shows where the retirement or even death of an actor would result in their characters either being recast, retired, or even killed off out of respect for the latter), neither May nor Max have made any further appearances in the anime following Pokémon: The Series: Diamond and Pearl except in either flashbacks or brief, non-speaking cameos.
