A former [[Pokémon Coordinator]], she now lives on a ranch near [[Fiery Path]], where she takes care of multiple {{p|Numel}}. However, she still makes [[Pokéblock]]s for her Pokémon using the {{Berries}} that grow on the ranch. After being chased out of Fiery Path by a group of {{p|Slugma}} and tumbling down a hill, {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}} met Julie when they spotted one of her Numel. After introducing themselves, {{an|May}} decided to {{pkmn|battle}} Julie with her newly-{{pkmn2|caught}} {{TP|May|Skitty}} so it could gain [[experience]].

Overnight, {{TRT}} poached all of Julie's Numel. However, May and Skitty were also captured, and they helped them escape. Julie had Ash, {{an|Brock}}, and [[Max]] hop in the back of her truck as she pursued Team Rocket. She and her Furret then worked together with [[Ash's Pikachu]] to send the trio blasting off. The next day, Julie showed Ash and his friends the way to [[Mt. Chimney]].
