Jeremiah (Japanese: ウブカタ Ubukata) is a minor recurring character in the Pokémon anime. He is a sales representative working for the Pokétch Company in Jubilife City. Jeremiah was inspired by his customers to become a Pokémon Trainer and now attends Snowpoint City's Trainers' School.
History
In his debut in Classroom Training!, Jeremiah took a test in which he answered all of Candice's riddle-style questions correctly while Ash impatiently answered them, resulting in the wrong answers. Because of this, Jeremiah thought Ash was not a truly skilled Trainer, and only won his Gym Badges by luck. After the test, he tried to take back the Poké Balls stolen by Team Rocket. He called on his Skuntank for assistance, but James's Carnivine used Vine Whip to incapacitate Skuntank. Ash and the others stepped in and successfully defeated Team Rocket, and upon realizing that Ash was a competent Trainer, he apologized to Ash.
In Sliding Into Seventh!, Jeremiah was left in charge of a class of younger students while Ash and Candice had their Gym match. When Team Rocket attempted to steal the school's Poké Balls for a second time, he used his Skuntank's Stench Ability to chase Team Rocket away.
Jeremiah made a brief cameo in A Grand Fight for Winning!, where he watched the Contest Battle between Dawn and Zoey in the final round of the Sinnoh Grand Festival in the Snowpoint Trainers' School, alongside Candice.
Character
Jeremiah is responsible and composed in his manner. He initially considered himself an expert Pokémon Trainer because of his rigorous studying. However, he later learned that he was lacking the practical experience showcased by Ash when he took on Team Rocket in Classroom Training!.

| Jeremiah's Skuntank first appeared in Classroom Training, where Jeremiah explained that after working in Jubilife City most of his life he decided to begin a journey and chose Skuntank as his first partner Pokémon. Later it battled James's Carnivine and was about to be defeated when it was saved by Pikachu.
It reappeared in Sliding Into Seventh! when Jeremiah used its Stench Ability to force Team Rocket out of hiding in a shed, and recover the school's stolen Pokémon. Skuntank's known moves are Scratch* and Night Slash*, and its Ability is Stench*. | ||
