Like the other Ice-type Gyms, the challenge here is a skating challenge. There are curved surfaces which curves the skating. Colored switches will redirect them. After the second Trainer, there is a ramp that can be jumped. After the fourth Trainer, another ramp is present.
Although the gym is no longer used in Black 2 and White 2, it can still be entered and traversed. Brycen does appear at the end of the icy paths where he will briefly talk to the player.

Icirrus Gym appeared in Caution: Icy Battle Conditions. The Gym's arena is covered with ice and can be a bit tricky to move on, as Ash's Pokémon experienced in their battle. Ash challenged Brycen in a 3 on 3 match where Ash came out victorious earning himself the Freeze Badge.
Trivia
- According to Black Belt Thomas, he is from the Fighting Dojo in Kanto.
- In Pokémon Black and White there are three non-solid rocks in the Gym. It is possible to abuse this to get to Brycen without battling Black Belt Thomas.
- When jumping at the ice slides, the player's shadow is still seen below his/her feet, even though the player is jumping over an abyss.
